The boot is very pretty and the material seems sturdy. It has a nice sole. With that said, I immediately returned it after trying it on. I bought a size 8W, which is a full size larger than I normally wear and it was still way too tight. I wanted additional space for warm socks in the winter (hence the -W). I tried this shoe on with a thin trouser sock. Also, the measurement for the opening is way off. While I did NOT beleive the boot would fit a calf 18" wide (the opening is a little more than 16"), I did expect my 15.25" calf to fit with room for tights. Well, I could just zip it up on a bare leg with a trouser sock.

I will give the boots the benefit of the doubt. It's absolutely possible that the boot I received was mistakenly marked with the incorrect size. However, the measurements on the opening is at least a full inch less than what is stated.
