I normally wear Birkenstock softbed sandals, but I wanted an "all day" sandal with a strap around the heel for security. This Drew sandal is my first experience with this brand. Both straps across your foot are velcro and work GREAT...I was afraid that they would not hold when tightened down....not so....held great. The leather scratches easily...even from trying to release the velcro. However, it doesn't water stain...which is good for me, since I am always watering something.
The footbed is NOT as comfortable as Birks softbed. Sorry...NO WAY...but they are good for long stretches on your feet walking. As for the longevity of the soles..that remains to be seen. I will update in 6 months. Overall...I am satisfied with this pair and would recommend them. I ordered the wide, but I think they are not very wide as they fit me and I am not a "wide" in some shoes. What I am trying to say, is ...that if you are slightly wide in the foot...order the wide. If you are really very wide..they probably won't work for you.
