Mavic 2013/14 Tourmaline Women's Road Cycling Shoe (Black - 8) Review

I really enjoy these shoes and use them solely for spin class at the gym. They have definitely made an improvement in my workout. I think it does take time to break in these shoes as the top of the shoe was a little tight on my right ankle area and hurt for a couple classes; they feel great now! The only concern I did have with these shoes, and thus the non-5 star rating was the service I received after getting my shoes. I bought Shimano SPD cleats, as I saw they were the compatible cleat set to use for this shoe on a separate website. I could not figure out for the life of me how to attach them, as the screw did not seem to go into the hole on the bottom of the shoe. I emailed the company, once directly on the website, and received no response and my ticket was closed, I even called. I followed up with an Amazon email and finally received a response that was not helpful and received a follow up response with a link to the Mavic site. The Mavic site does not indicate cleat compatibility and says to reach out to where you bought them, so it was useless. I ended up bringing my shoes and cleats into a local bike shop (Toga - NYC), where they put them on for free! I bought the multi release cleat because I was worried about this being my first time using cleats and looking like an idiot trying to get off the bike. I now wish I bought the regular kind, bc it is very easy to get out and I already popped out once.
