After reading the very discouraging reviews from other customers, I allowed myself to get scared off from ordering this shoe at first. I ordered another black patent pump from another manufacturer that got high marks from customers. But I've never really been happy with that one, and I kept coming back to this one and wondering if, in fact, it wouldn't have been the better shoe for me all along. Something about it just spoke to me. Finally decided to ignore the negative reviews and see for myself.

I should have ordered this one in the first place. It's well worth the price. I have very wide feet, so I ordered in the extra wide. It was comfortable the instant I tried it on in bare feet, even without the benefit of pantyhose to ease it on and off. It's even more comfortable WITH pantyhose. I can wear this shoe all day. I love the shapely profile, the rounded toe (pointed-toe shoes are agony for me), the padded insole, the high-gloss sheen. It provides ample breathing space for the toes, while gently hugging the heel so there's no slipping. It's also very true to size, so order the size you would normally wear. Finally, I appreciate the non-skid sole, which allows me to walk confidently on slick floors.

This shoe looks beautiful with pants, leggings or skirts. I especially like the way it looks with opaque black tights and skirt. It's also terrific with jeans and a nice jacket.

In short, if you're like me and have wide feet, and place a high premium on comfort as well as beauty, this is the shoe for you.

Finally, a word about Amazon.com. This shoe qualified for the free super saver shipping, so I didn't expect to see it for at least a couple of weeks after I ordered it. It arrived in less than a week, roughly the same delivery schedule as with regular shipping.
