I am a long time wearer of an AFO. It is very difficult to find shoes that work well with this type of orthotic that are not athletic shoes. However, when I tried on this shoe with the AFO I could not believe how comfortable they fit together. The shoe wears well and looks new for a looooong time. I have had mine for at least 4 years and they still look new. One of my friends complimented me on my new shoes last weekend. HA HA! It is hard to find womens shoes of this type that you can wear with a dress that actually look decent. This pair works! They are very light wieght and clean up great with little effort! The laces make it easier to adjust to keep the AFO in place and my foot and ankle comfortable. Laces, unlike velcro closures do not wear out. If you need new laces you just go buy some, with velco you must employ a shoe repair person. I still have not had to buy new laces. I love these shoes!
